A collection of filmed items made in and around Moorsholm since 1986, and including the WI Domesday Project, and campaigns for the school bus and Birk Brow. There’s the building of the new Pavilion on the Rec, and the video that boosted Moorsholm’s entry in the Britain In Bloom competition. You can also learn the story of the (railwayless) Station Hotel, and meet Moorsholm's favourite 'movie star', Nell The Sheepdog.
This compilation has been made to mark the renewal of the Memorial Hall roof and inner ceiling — and although it's free to watch, there's subtle hints at the end looking for donations. For more details contact secretary@moorsholmmemorialhall.org.uk or treasurer@moorsholmmemorialhall.org.uk.
The early films in particular were shot on VHS — a standard which looks pretty fuzzy and muddy compared to today's digital quality. Please make allowances!
To watch the films, click on the screen below. They are in chronological order, and are best viewed that way, with one following on from the other. But if you want to move onward through the titles, hover your mouse over the top left corner of the screen, and click the downward-pointing arrow... this will show all the items, which you can click and jump to. The list goes away after a few seconds.
