The Hall running costs are generally met through the proceeds from regular and casual Hall bookings, an annual Coffee Morning and Moorsholm Show.
But for special tasks (such as the 2010 Renewal Project) grant aid may have to be sought, and the Management Committee are very grateful to acknowledge the considerable financial assistance for that Project, made available through the Rural Development Programme for England which is jointly funded by Defra and the European Union, and is managed by Yorkshire Forward in the Yorkshire and Humber region. We very much appreciate the help and advice given by the LEADER Funding teams at Northallerton County Hall and the North York Moors National Park in Helmsley.
Subsequently the B&Q store in Middlesbrough provided a £250 grant towards extra insulation for the Main Hall ceiling — this was installed in the summer of 2010.
Regular support is given by Lockwood Parish Council for Christmas Decorations, and the printing of the Moorsholm Show schedule.
A grant of £5000 from Groundworks North East has allowed us to buy upholstered chairs, small tables, and a portable staging unit.
More recently, a grant from Sirius Minerals supported the re-laying of the floor surface in the Kitchen, Entrance Hall and Toilets.
