Category 4: BEST PRODUCTION FOR A TARGET AUDIENCE
Guest Presenter: RAY LAIDLAW

This category celebrates productions made for a specific niche target audience — for example, private and public sector clients, communities or educational groups. Productions are likely to have a specific marketing, training, educational or information purpose and must be produced by professional programme-makers. They will be distributed through non-broadcast methods. Content can be factual, feature or drama, and can include live action or animation. Clients commissioning these productions may include corporates, local authorities, grant-giving bodies, educational bodies or charitable trusts.

The panel agreed the standard of all 32 entries was higher than in previous years.

50 PAIRS OF FEET CAN'T BE WRONG, from MoShine Animation, brought together over 30 minutes of 3D animation and film, and was created to accompany 10 tracks performed live by Michael Nyman at The Sage, Gateshead.

RETURN OF THE NURSE by Aladnlass helped children understand the benefits of school nurses, within an accessible 'spoof horror' treatment.

The judges were impressed by Twenty First Century Media's NHS MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING SCENARIOS, and were intrigued by the short animation sequence HEARING VOICES from Boom Creative Consultants.

They were moved by LEIGH-ANN'S STORY from Robson Brown, and admired the creativity of ARCHIVES from IF Films.

The panel agreed the winner was not only extremely creative, but would succeed brilliantly with its target audience. The winner is ARCHIVES from IF Films, produced by BEV FOX, Camera/Editor IAN McLAUGHLIN."
