The Judges said:

The overall standard was very high and diverse, meeting equally high demands from commissioners. They were gripped by MUG from Primate Productions — a drama which was totally authentic and would easily hold the attention of the target audience of teenagers. FIRMENICH from Dene Films was a thoroughly polished production, while TEESDALE FARMING STORY — aimed at school-children — made every penny count. It was an original, inventive and charming film, which really works with its audience.
