'Moorsholm Memorial Hall' Renewal Project Page

Renewal Project

In 2009 the Committee received very generous grant support from various organisations (see our Sponsors link) to upgrade the Hall. Together with considerable fund-raising efforts by villagers, work started at Christmas to make the improvements that Hall users had been asking for.

The toilets and entrance hall were refurbished, and an Accessible Toilet installed. The Kitchen was completely re-fitted to make a clean and efficient food-preparation resource. But most important, extensive work was undertaken to make the building more energy efficient. Double-glazed windows were installed throughout, and oil-fired central heating put in, together with a sophisticated control system. Subsequently the loft insulation was increased to help conserve the heat.

The Hall was further enhanced by complete redecoration, and the making of a full set of new curtains, using redundant ones offered by Bader School in Stockton.
